For students aged 16 + years

Come to our Colleges for free creative activities and pre-university advice and guidance. Join our:

  • Spring Schools (March/April)
  • Summer Schools (June/July)
  • Autumn-Winter Schools (October–February)

Who can take part? Our eligibility criteria

All applicants must be:


16+ years and studying A Levels and/or Level 3 Diplomas at a UAL Outreach partner school or college in London.

We also recognise that there are other informal education courses, clubs and life experiences that provide excellent equivalent experience outside of schools and colleges. We'll consider applicants from these backgrounds on a case-by-case basis.

Students on the Foundation programme at UAL are not eligible but are supported by UAL's Academic Support Teams.

We'll consider your application if you meet more than 1 of following criteria:

  • you are currently in or have been in care
  • you live in a priority postcode area (using the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD), areas in deciles 1 to 4)
  • you live in a household that receives benefits for living costs, including: Universal Credit; Child Tax Credit; Free School Meals; Housing Benefit; Income Support; Income-based Job Seekers Allowance.
  • have no parent or guardian that has completed a university degree.

When you apply please provide accurate information about your eligibility. If you don't it may affect your application to Insights and UAL.

Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon College of Arts: 30 March – 2 April

Time: 10.30am – 4.30pm

Location: Chelsea College of Arts SW1P 4JU

Workshops include:

  • 3D design (including product, furniture, interior, spatial and performance design)
  • fine art
  • graphic design and illustration.

Central Saint Martins: 30 March – 1 April

Time: 10.30am – 4.30pm

Location: King’s Cross N1C 4AA

Experience different specialist technical areas of the College.

Workshops introduce elements of:

Architecture, 3D and ceramic design, photography, fashion, graphic design, print and textile design and more.

Time: 10.30am – 4.30pm

Location: Elephant and Castle SE1 6SB

Choose 1 pathway:

  • animation, illustration, games design
  • graphic branding, visual communication, information design
  • photography, media communications, audio journalism
  • set design, filmmaking, sound and music.
